When the US military pulled out of several Caribbean islands they left a legacy of banana republic style economic oppression, they also left behind tons and tons of ordinary steel barrels full of toxic waste and used oil. Islanders, learning how to utilize everything due to their extremely limited resource pool, found that these drums (once properly cleaned of their noxious contents) made pleasant melodic drums capable of being tuned. The result is evident in this laid back Caribbean sounding set of samples.
